Cancellation information

Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer entering a distance or off-premises contract, you generally have 14 days to cancel a service contract without giving a reason. For a service, the 14 days run from the day after the contract is made. Tell me clearly by email or post before the period ends. You may use the form below, but do not have to.
If you ask DCD to start a service during the cancellation period, you can still cancel before it is fully performed. If you cancel after work has started, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the work provided up to the time you tell DCD, provided you made an express request for early start and received the required information. Once the service is fully performed, the cancellation right ends only if you gave express prior consent for it to start and acknowledged that you would lose the right once fully performed.
For digital files supplied by download or link, DCD will ask separately for express consent to supply during the cancellation period and acknowledgement that the cancellation right for that digital content is lost once supply begins. Do not treat silence or a pre-ticked box as consent.
This statutory cancellation right is separate from your rights if the service or digital content is faulty or does not meet the contract.
